From visibility plateau to page one dominance

A leading outsourced HR provider needed to migrate, rebrand, and grow without losing a single position. We rebuilt the technical foundation, closed content gaps competitors were exploiting, and turned a high-risk migration into a launchpad for sustainable organic growth.

The starting point

The client had strong branded visibility and a loyal customer base but competitive terms like "HR outsourcing" and "outsourced HR services" were owned by larger, more established players. A major rebrand and website migration was already planned, making the stakes higher: one wrong move could erase years of hard-earned authority.

Our audit combining GA4, Google Search Console, and Microsoft Clarity data with a manual technical and content review revealed the scale of the challenge. Nearly a quarter of meta descriptions were missing. Mobile performance scored just 21% on Lighthouse. Internal linking was shallow, transactional queries were underserved, and ageing evergreen content was already slipping in visibility.

The strategy

We set the migration as a hard deadline and worked backwards from it. Technical foundations came first: crawlability, metadata, schema, and site architecture were fixed before any content changes scaled. Every redirect was mapped manually, tested in staging, and monitored for six weeks post-launch. Zero visibility loss was the baseline.

With the site live and stable, we shifted focus to authority and conversion. An EEAT-driven content framework targeted the sub-service queries competitors owned. Internal linking connected service, sector, and blog pages into coherent topic clusters. Behavioural data from GA4 and Clarity pinpointed where users were dropping off and CRO improvements closed the gap.

The project drew on connected SEO, content, and CRO working as a single system rather than separate workstreams.

01

Technical SEO

Full metadata overhaul, canonical and sitemap restructure, mobile optimisation, and schema across Organisation, Local Business, Contact, and Article types.

02

Content evolution

Refreshed core service pages, new sub-service content targeting transactional queries, and high-impact blog publishing aligned to SME HR challenges.

03

Authority & trust

Strategic internal linking between services and sectors, with client outcomes and proof points surfaced throughout to shift from "services explained" to "expertise proven."

04

Conversion optimisation

Behavioural analysis via GA4 and Microsoft Clarity used to refine form placement, CTA copy, and page structure for improved lead conversion.
